adrian piper’s work/thought process is brilliant… i remember discovering her work in high-school, it was/is inspiring… i even made a wet paint t-shirt & wore it ragged…

there’s something about the color yellow, it can be both light & heavy at the same time… especially when painting with yellow, it’s so saturated yet transparent… it takes multiple coats or a thickening agent to make it dense… just playing with the idea of what gives things weight or how to give things weight… also the idea of light having weight…

thinking about the power of words… how they carry substance… how contexts then affects how we feel/view words/language…

my second grade teacher always started the day off playing motown records… as a kid i didnt get it… now i look back realizing the significance of that small act… it was the best way to reset the day anew… it got us dancing, forgetting all our troubles… lifting our moods… & since april has been a terrible no good month for me personally… i’m bringing in may with some motown magic to wipe away all the worries & heartache…

i wish i could runaway to the american museum of natural history…
